There are so many knitting books available that it can be really hard to choose one. Factoring in patterns, descriptions, photos, tutorials — not to mention the author/ contributors — can be quite daunting. Good thing My Sister Knits is chock full of advice and has a great selection of books to choose from!
New to our shop is the sock book to end all sock books. Friend of MSK Ann Budd has just come out with her Sock Knitting Master Class (published by Interweave Press) that is exactly what the title says. Ann herself is a veritable encyclopedia of knitting advice and tutorials (she’s also written the immensely popular Knitter’s Handy Book of Sweater Patterns) and this book is no exception. It’s full of excellent color photos of every pattern, and the tutorials are laid out so that newbies and advanceds alike can learn something new from it. Patterns are contributed from big names including Meg Swansen, Cookie A, Eunny Jang, Cat Bordhi, Ann Budd herself, and many more. With a list of sock knitterati like that, this book is worth every penny and contains patterns that you will use again and again.
In addition to the gorgeous patterns, Sock Knitting Master Class contains instructions and tutorials for both toe-up and top-down socks, different cast-ons, bind-offs and heel and toe options for both techniques. Pick up a copy of your own at the shop today!
